Introduction

My name is Debra Glymph, I am the Nurse Remediation/ Retention Specialist for this grant. I have been happily married for nine years. I enjoy spending time with my husband and two exciting children. Other hobbies include gardening, fishing, painting, and sewing.

I am a Registered Nurse. I graduated from Northwestern State University, College of Nursing in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1997. My clinical area of interest is cardiac care. I am currently working on my Masters of Science in Nursing, education track, through The University of Texas at Tyler. My research interests include the effect of extended hospital nursing training on increased competency levels and job satisfaction for new graduate nurses, and nursing retention rates.

If there is a need, I will be able to set up workshops for specific areas of concern within your entry level curriculum. Please inform me via email and/or your instructors with these workshop requests. I will be monitoring the website and email Monday through Friday for the duration of the grant. Please feel free to contact me. I am here to help. glymphdebra@sfasu.edu
